Frequently Asked Questions

Individualized Care

Do you screen your caregivers?
Our caregivers undergo a thorough background check, state-approved and specific training, and a screening process. Annual Training and Licensing requirements are kept current by all care staff at all times.
Do you have a minimum number of hours?
No, we provide services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Do we sign a contract?
A contract is not required. We do have an agreement specifying the assistance that will be provided, the dates and times needed, and the rates of service.
Do you provide just in-home care?
No, we also provide services to those living in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals.
Do you maintain records in the home?
Yes, we fill out charts, daily notes, and time sheets daily.
Does insurance cover any of the care?
Yes, if you have a long-term care policy that includes custodial or in-home care. If this is the case we can offer assistance with the paperwork and billing if you desire.
Will I always have the same caregiver?
We understand the need for continuity and the comfort that comes with routine and familiarity. Therefore, we aim to appoint the same caregiver to visit your home every shift. If your needs exceed our ability to schedule the same caregiver every shift, we will need to introduce other caregivers. In this event, we keep the number of caregivers who come into your home to a minimum to keep disruptions down and your comfort level stable.
Do you ensure patient confidentiality?
Yes, we comply with all HIPAA regulations to maintain the utmost privacy for all of our clients. Please contact us for more information and a copy of our privacy policy.

Do you take out taxes?
All appropriate taxes are withheld from employees’ paychecks. These taxes include federal taxes, Medicare, Social Security, and any other taxes required to be withheld.
Do you hire employees with little or no experience in home health care?
Yes, we are willing to train you to become a part of our team and will try to place you in a position that will allow you to continually learn while performing your job.
What training do you offer employees?
All caregivers are trained with materials offered by the State of Tennessee, covering many topics, such as Relias, CPR, first aid, medication administration, confidentiality, incident reporting, and working with different disabilities and illnesses. Additional training is also available when needed.
Can I work for AdvanceCare Services as a second job?
Yes, many employees work part-time. We offer great flexibility when scheduling our employees.
Do you offer flexible scheduling? Will I need to work holidays?
At AdvanceCare, we offer the opportunity to work hours that best fit your needs. Our individuals have needs during different hours of the day and night, including weekends and holidays. Therefore, we cannot always provide employees with their ideal schedules, but we strive to schedule as fairly as possible. To work in your ideal schedule, you may be asked to work additional hours outside of your preference. We encourage you to discuss any limitations you have during your interview. We will try our best to accommodate your needs.
How often will I be paid?
Semi-monthly, on the 15th and 30th of each month.
On the 4th of each month for Family Model.
What is Family Model Service?
