AdvanceCare is committed to work alongside The Department of Children Services (DCS) to serve children with intellectual, developmental disabilities or children who are medically fragile. Our goal at AdvanceCare is to achieve safety, well being and permanency for all children. Our foster care program offers a specialized approach as we operate from a family-based model in order to serve children holistically.
Our foster families are trained in CPR, First Aide and specialized training annually in order to be in compliance with the standards outlined by DCS as well as our agency. Training is mandatory to ensure the best trauma informed care is provided for children. At AdvanceCare, we understand that children do best when they are home with their birth families. However, we are available to care for them while a team works with their birth families to build on their strengths in order to lead them on the road to success. In accordance with the DCS Family before Permanency Plan, we help children achieve permanency through reunification, adoption or continued care. AdvanceCare will also assist children/youth as they age out of foster care through extension of foster care and/or permanent planned living. We have transition staff who collaborate with case managers to bridge services of children/youth to adult waivers such as ECF, DIDD or CLS.
Our agency directly aligns with The Department of Children Services to ensure every child placed in our care is on the road to a forever family in the event they are not able to return home. We are committed to provide around the clock care to children who are placed with our agency in a nurturing trauma free environment.”
